A thin layer of gas called ozone high up in the atmosphere filters out these dangerous rays. It provides oxygen for humans and animals to breathe, and carbon dioxide for plants.

keeps us from the harmful rays of the dun, it keeps us from getting burnt crispy. also keeps us from exploding, if there was no atmostphere the pressure from space would make us explode literally
