Answer: 6

Explanation:

The given system of equations :


4x + 2y = 12......(1)\\\\ x -y = 3.....................(2)

Multiplying 2 to the both sides of equation (2)


2x-2y=6.............(3)

Now, Add equation (1) and equation (3), we get


6x=18\\\\\rightarrow\ x=(18)/(3)=6

Put x=6 in (2), we get


6-y=3\\\\\Rightarrow\ y=6-3=3

Hence, the value of the x variable in the solution to the following system of equations =6
