3Then, undo the + 3 by subtracting Remember, you need to do it to BOTH sides!
5.2a + 3 - 3 = 7 - 3,
6.so 2a = 4.
7.Undo the multiply by 2 by dividing by 2, again on both sides:

How solve a equation by.
Clear out any fractions by Multiplying every term by the bottom parts.Add or Subtract the same value from both sides.Divide every term by the same nonzero value.Combine Like Terms.Factoring.
Expanding (the opposite of factoring) may also help.
