Solve the first equation for y to compare it to the second equation because the second equation is in terms of y.
(y-8)/(x-1) =2 \\ y-8=2(x-1) \\ y-8=2x-2 \\ y=2x+6
Since the first equation simplifies and is the same as the second equation, they are identical equations and their lines when graphed will also be identical.
