12:2 can be written as 12/2.....apples is ur numerator and loaves is ur denominator. So 5 loaves....loaves is ur denominator...
12/2 = a/5
proportion...so we cross multiply
2a = 60
a = 60/2
a = 30
so when there is 5 loaves, there is 30 apples
the equivalent ratio is 30/5 or 30:5

The equivalent ratio for 5 loaves of bread is 60:5. The reason why is because you must divide the number of apples by the loaves of bread, which would equal 6 apples for one loaf. So you multiply 6 by 5 and you get the number of apples, which is 60.
