We need to find the value of:


(j^3\cdot k)/(h^0)

Knowing that j=-1, k=-12 and h=8. Let's see the two terms with powers seprately:


\begin{gathered} j^3=j\cdot j\cdot j=(-1)\cdot(-1)\cdot(-1) \\ \text{We know that }(-1)\cdot(-1)=1\text{ so we get:} \\ (-1)\cdot(-1)\cdot(-1)=1\cdot(-1)=-1 \\ \text{Then:} \\ j^3=-1 \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} h^0=8^0 \\ \text{And any given non-zero number raised to 0 is equal to 1 so we get:} \\ h^0=1 \end{gathered}

If we use all these values we found in the original expression we get:


(j^3\cdot k)/(h^0)=((-1)^3\cdot(-12))/(8^0)=((-1)\cdot(-12))/(1)=(12)/(1)=12
