The equation of the line that passes through the points (3, 4) and (-3, -8) is
y - 4 = (-8 - 4)/(-3 - 3) (x - 3)
y - 4 = -12/-6 (x - 3)
y - 4 = 2(x - 3) = 2x - 6
y = 2x - 6 + 4
y = 2x - 2
