Can a molecule of C2 exist with tetra covalent bonds? Please justify.

no, it can't as in between every atoms there is maximum 3 bonds can be formed not more than it as it become unstable  and break down easily...

in my opinion,i think a molecule of C2 cannot exist with tetra covalent bonds

There is a maximum of 3 bonds in every atom.
If more bonds exist, it can became really unstable and could be broken easily
