The double number line below shows the prices for a certain number of packs of laundry detergent at a store. Which statement correctly gives and explains the price of 9 packs of laundry detergent? Two number lines are shown one above the other. The number line on the top is labeled and marked at 2, 4, 6, 8. On the left of this number line is written Packs of Laundry Detergent. The number line below it is labeled and marked at 12, 24, 36, 48. On the left of this number line is written Price of Packs in brackets dollar sign.

$18, because the price of each pack is $2
$60, because the price of each pack is $6
$54, because the price of each pack is $6
$108, because the price of each pack is $12

2 packs = 12
4 packs = 24
6 packs = 36
8 packs = 48

12/2 = 6...means each pack is 6 bucks

so 9 packs would be $ 54

Answer:

The answer is : $54, because the price of each pack is $6

Explanation:

The number line is not shown, but all the information is complete.

We can write as :

Packs of detergent 2 4 6 8

Price of packs 12 24 36 48

We can find the corresponding values.

2 packs costs $12, so 1 pack will cost
12/2=6 dollars.

or

6 packs cost $36, so 1 pack will cost
36/6=6 dollars.

We can derive that each pack of detergent costs $6.

And we have to tell the price of 9 packs, so 9 packs will cost:

9*6=54 dollars.

So, the correct option is : $54, because the price of each pack is $6
