The scale factor of the dimensions of two similar wood floors is 4:3. It costs $216 to refinish the smaller wood floor. At this rate, how much would it cost to refinish the larger wood floor? Please show work :)

In order to know the answer, we are going to solve this using proportion.
Given that 4 is the larger wood and 3 is the smaller wood, the cost of the smaller wood is 216 now we are going to find how much is for the larger wood.
Let us represent it this way:
4:3 = x : 216 Let x be the cost of the larger wood.
Just cross multiply and divide
4 x 216 divided by 3 and we get 288. Therefore, the cost is $288. Hope this answer helps.
