11^2+17^2 = answer^2

answer = sqrt(410)

answer= 20.248

so the answer is A

As given in the question, that the given triangle is a right angle triangle.

Pythagoras Theorem-


\Rightarrow \text{Hypotenuse}^2=\text{Base}^2+\text{Perpendicular}^2

Here,

Hypotenuse = x ft

Base = 17 ft

Perpendicular = 11 ft

Putting the values,


\Rightarrow x^2=17^2+11^2


\Rightarrow x^2=289+121


\Rightarrow x^2=410


\Rightarrow x=√(410)


\Rightarrow x=20.2\ ft

Therefore, the missing length to the nearest tenth is 20.2 ft.
