Which system of equations has exactly one solution?

O 2x - 4y = 8
X+ y = 7
o 3x+y=-1
6x+2y = -2
3x+3y = 3
-6x-6y=3
3x-2y = 4
-3x + 2y = 4

Answer: Most of them cross each other once so I am not sure which one is the answer (sorry)

Explanation:

x+y=7 is parallel to 3x+3y=3 and -6x-6y=3

3x+y=-1 and 6x+2y=-2 have infinite solutions togther (both are on top of each other)

The rest of the ways cross each other once

The system of equations that has exactly one solution is (a) 2x - 4y = 8 and x + y = 7

Which system of equations has exactly one solution?

From the question, we have the following parameters that can be used in our computation:

The system of equations in the options

Checking for systems with exactly one solution, we have

2x - 4y = 8

x + y = 7

Make y the subject in x + y = 7

So, we have

y = 7 - x

This gives

2x - 4y = 8

2x - 4(7 - x) = 8

2x - 28 + x = 8

So, we have

3x = 36

x = 12

Hence, the system of equations that has exactly one solution is (a) 2x - 4y = 8 x + y = 7
