Bismuth is a nontoxic metal that is used in pharmaceuticals and chemicals . bismuth has a simple cubic unit cell. how many atoms of bi are present in each unit cell?

It has been said above that Bismuth has a simple cubic unit cell. In this case one atom or ion lies at each corner of the cube. Since only 1/8 of each corner sphere lies within the unit cell hence simple cubic unit cell will only have one atom. Hope this answers the question.
