Which expression represents the verbal phrase six less than one-third a number?

6-1+3n, or 6-1/3n, or 1-6+3n, or finally 1/3n-6

six less than: Think of this as "minus 6" or -6. number: Think of this as "n." one-third of a number: Think of this "as one-third of n" or (1/3)n Putting that together: (1/3) n - 6 ---> finally 1/3n-6 for six less than one-third a number

"six less than", which mean the number six will be the negative number in the equation
Based on the options, i think the expression would be :
1/3n - 6

Hope this helps
