Explain why these two lines have no solution: y = 4/5x + 1 and y = 4/5x - 3

Both
(4)/(5)x+1 and
(4)/(5)x-3 are equal to
y, so they equal each other:

(4)/(5)x+1=(4)/(5)x-3

\rightarrow1=-3
But this can't happen.

So there is no solution to the equations.
