The y-intercept is the value of y when x=0:

y=(1)/(3)(0)-6

$\rightarrow y=-6$

The x-intercept is the value of x when y=0:

0=(1)/(3)x-6

$\rightarrow(1)/(3)x=6$

$\rightarrow x=18$
