The y-intercept is the value of y when x=0:

y=(1)/(3)(0)-6

\rightarrow y=-6

The x-intercept is the value of x when y=0:

0=(1)/(3)x-6

\rightarrow(1)/(3)x=6

\rightarrow x=18
