t=5k
sub5k for t
k+5k=36
6k=36
divide both sides by 6
k=6
sub back
t=5k
t=5(6)
t=30
tail=30ft

Kite = x
Tail = 5x
5x + x = 36
6x = 36
x = 6
5x = 5*6 = 30
The kite's tail is 30 ft <-----
