You do 2.89 ÷ 4.25 = $0.68, which is your answer :)

we know that

A jar of jelly that weighs
4.25 ounces costs
\$2.89

so

by proportion

Find the cost of one ounce

(2.89)/(4.25)(\$)/(ounces) = (x)/(1)(\$)/(ounce)\\ \\x=(2.89)/(4.25)\\ \\x=\$0.68

therefore

the answer is

\$0.68
