1.- For this notice that if the function intercepts x at 3 and 5 it means that the roots of the function are x=3 and x=5, then y(x) = (x-3)(x-5)

2.- Now we distribute:


(x-3)(x-5)=x^2-8x+15^{}

and to find the value of the y-intercept we set x=0 and get:


y(0)=0-0+15=15
