Last year, the number of students enrolled in the school was 672. If this number increases by 12% the next year, how many students will there be?

What an amount is increased by a percent, add the percent change to 100. 100 + 12 = 112. Use the proportion \frac{}{100}=\frac{is}{of} to get \frac{112}{100}=\frac{x}{100}
(112)/(100)=(x)/(100).

Answer:

Explanation:

672 x 12% = 80.64

80.64 is going to be added...

672 + 80.64 = 752.64 ≈ 753 students...

hope this works...
