The answer is option b. 384

Since 1/8 of the population is left handed, there is another 7/8 that are right handed.

Let's call x to the number of students, then:


\begin{gathered} (1)/(8)\cdot x=48 \\ \end{gathered}

This means, the an eight of the total students are left handed. Now we can solve for x:


x=8\cdot48=384
