15x + 1=y subtract 1 from both sides

15x=y-1 divide both sides by 15

x=(y-1)/15

It is not a very tough problem to understand or do. Only thing required is to solve the equation very carefully without making any mistakes with signs.

15x + 1 = y
15x = y - 1
x = (y - 1)/15
