The number of appetizers is 5

and

the number of main courses is 6

According to the Fundamental Counting Principle:

If one process can be done in m ways and another process can be done in

n ways then both process can be together done in

m x n ways

Then,

the number of ways of ordering a two-course meal = 5 x 6 = 30
