The equations given in the question are

3x - 5y = -16
and
2x + 5y = 31
Adding the two equations, we get
5x = 15
x = 15/5
= 3
Putting the value of x in the second equation, we get
2x + 5y = 31
2(3) + 5y = 31
6 + 5y = 31
5y = 25
y = 5
From the above deduction, it can be easily concluded that the correct option among all the options that are given in the question is the first option or option "A".
