To get the Greates Common Factor (GCF) of 39 and 42 we need to factor each value first and then we choose all the copies of factors and multiply them: 39: 3 13 42: 2 3 7 GCF: 3

the answer is 3 because it goes into 39 and 42 and 6 doesn't go into 39
