Can you conclude that the triangles are similar? If so, state the postulate or theorem you used and write a similarity statement. If not, explain.

Answer:

The triangles are not congruent because of SAS theorem

Explanation:

The SAS ( side -angle - side) theorem says that if two triangles share one angle and two side lengths then the triangles are congruent.

Now, in our case, if we are trying to establish that the triangles KPN and KDG are congruent, then they should at least share two sides and one angle.

The triangles do indeed share one angel (the 90 degree angle) and one side (KN and KG). However, the sides (GD and NP) are not shared; therefore, the triangles do not satisfy the SAS theorem, and hence, the triangles are not congruent.
