$2.88-4 as it is a 1/4

1 = 2.88
1/4 = x
x = 2.88 * 1/4
x = 2.88 ÷ 4
x = 0.82
Answer: Matthew paid 0.82 for 1/4 pound
Just cross multiply and then divide
