Here ADC is a direct current motor made of a soft iron core wrapped around a solenoid.

We need to determine the direction the motor will spin.

when a current carrying conductor is kept in a magnetic field a torque is created . This torque is responsible for motion .

Now , according to figure south polarity is created near south pole and north polarity is create near north pole depending upon direction of flow of current through solenoid .

Therefore motor will rotate in anticlockwise direction in a perpendicular plane
