Explain this quote pls hurry

“We call our constitution a democracy, because with, us power is in the hands of, not the minority, but the majority of our citizens..We obey those whom we have appointed (chosen) to positions of authority (control), and we obey the laws..Here, each of us is interested not only in his own affairs (concerns), but in the affairs of the state. Everyone is informed on general politics.”

Answer:

I would say that we call our constitution a democracy because the power of the government is in the hands of the majority so we follow who we appoint (president etc) and everyone knows generally about politics but may not delve into it even if they have concerns about their own things and the things that happen in America (which I presume the quote is about)
