There are 20 chickens.

2/8 = 1/4

5/x = 1/4
solve for x,
x=20

2/8 = 5/y...2 roosters to 8 chickens = 5 roosters to y chickens
cross multiply because this is a proportion
(2)(y) = (8)(5)
2y = 40
y = 40/2
y = 20....so with 5 roosters comes 20 chickens

2/8 reduces to 1/4....so with 1 rooster comes 4 chickens

ur table :

roosters : 2.....1......5
chickens: 8.... 4.....20
