A 2kg object is moving horizontally with a speed of 4 m/s . how much net force is required to keep the object moving at this speed and in this direction?

Same speed and same direction means no acceleration. Zero acceleration is the result of ZERO net force.

Assuming that there is no friction between the object and its surface, then no net force is required to keep it moving at this speed and direction. This is because of Newton's First Law, that an object an motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an outside, unbalanced force.
