Cuba has entered a new era of economic reform that defies easy comparison to post-Communist transitions ... physical infrastructure -- set Cuba apart from other countries that have moved away from communism.

SOS:

"No man is an Island" is a quotation from John Donne (1572-1631). It means, "Human beings do not thrive when isolated from others." This pretty much means that no one is self-sufficient; everyone relies on others. With all the national disasters that Cuba has been hit with, its survival is dependent on people working together for a common goal, namely the reconstruction of a decimated land, economy, and people. Cuba really hasn't had much of a role in global events, since the US embargo are against them and the international stigma against them has kept them rather sidelined.

Hope this helps!
