Mae wants to buy ice cream cones. It would cost $8.25 for 3 ice cream cones. At this rate how much will she spend on only 2 ice creams cones?

Take "x" as the price of an ice cream cone

3x=8.25

x=8.25/3=2.75

Each ice cream cone costs $2.75, then two ice cream cones will cost:

2x=2*(2.75)=5.5

She will spend $5.5 on 2 ice cream cones
