To solve for the perimeter of the triangle, first use Pythagorean theorem to solve for the hypotenuse and then add all of the sides together.

40 ^2 + 9^2
1600 + 81
1681 = C^2
41 = C

P = a + b + c
P = 40 + 9 + 41
P = 81 + 9
P = 90 units.
