A park guide plans the swan boat rides for 40 people. Each boat can carry 6 people at a time . What is the best way to interpret the remainder in this situation so that everyone gets a ride?

6 into 40 is 6.66666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666(Carry's on) So you need an extra boat.

40 dived by 6 would be 6.666 and so on. Which means there would be a remainder of people who would not fit onto the boats if there were only 6. They would need 7 boats. Not sure if that's the answer you needed.
