The given equation is

f(x)=x+4

To draw it we have to find 2 points belonging to it, then

Put x = 0 and find y, then put y = 0 and find x

\begin{gathered} x=0,y=0+4=4 \\ \\ y=0,0=x+4,x=-4 \end{gathered}

The two points are (0, 4) and (-4, 0)

We will change the y-intercept (0, 4) to (0, 2)

That means we will translate the line down 2 units

The equation of the new line is

y=x+2

The red line represents the first equation f(x) = x + 4

The blue line represents the new equation y = x + 2

2. Graph y = f(x)= x +4,then translate the y-intercept to (0, 2)& write the new-example-1
