Area of the yard = 30*45 = 1350 square feet

Company A

Area of the roll of sod: 2*5 = 10 square feet

Number of roll of sod needed: 1350/10 = 135 roll of sod

Cost: 3.9*135 = $526.5

Company B

Number of pallets needed: 1350/450 = 3

Cost: 150*3 + 45 = $495

The better deal is Company B

He will save $526.5 - $495 = $31.5
