Convert point slope and standard form equations into one another. Apply the appropriate linear equation formula to solve problems. Linear equations can take several forms, such as the point-slope formula, the slope-intercept formula, and the standard form of a linear equation.

Well, you could try to convert slope point form into slope intercept form and into standard form

For example :
Y - 3 = 1/2(X - 8)
Y - 3 = 1/2X - 4
Y - 3 + 3 = 1/2X - 4 + 3
Y = 1/2X - 1
Y - Y = 1/2X - 1 - Y
0 = 1/2X - Y - 1

Now multiply everything by the denominator to get rid of the 2.

2 • (0 = 1/2X - Y - 1)
0 = X - 2Y - 2
or
2 = X - 2Y.
