x3 − x2 + 14x − 8
x3 + 7x2 − 10x − 8
x3 − x2 − 10x − 8

(x − 4)(x2 + 3x + 2)
=x(x2 + 3x + 2)− 4(x2 + 3x + 2)
=(x3 + 3x2 + 2x)+(-4x2 - 12x - 8)
= x3-x2-10x-8
