The answer is -29. Since absolute value means the distance away from zero, the absolute value of a number is that number. Like the absolute value of 6 is 6. It is 6 spaces away from zero. If the negative I within I I, like I -6I, the absolute value of -6 is 6. But if the negative sigh is outside like this, -| 6|, the answer would be -6. It is inevitable that it would be negative. So in this case, keep the number and keep the sign outside of | |.
