Answer:

Domesday survey

The Domesday survey and Domesday Book have generally been seen as the culmination of the Norman Conquest, and show the results of a great investigation, commissioned by William the Conqueror, of the lands over which he now ruled.

After William's death the doomsday book was made. It was made because he was in a riot and burn't at a stake so the author had realised to make a doomsday book for his death. There are only 2 copies of this book. IN England and America ;)
