y = -3/2x + 6....the slope here is -3/2. A parallel line will have the same slope.

y = mx + b
slope(m) = -3/2
(2,-1)...x = 2 and y = -1
now we sub and find b, the y int
-1 = -3/2(2) + b
-1 = -3 + b
-1 + 3 = b
2 = b

so ur parallel equation is : y = -3/2x + 2
