2 cities are separated by 6.5 inches on a map. The actual distance between the cities is 48.75 miles. What is the map scale?

Quickly! In order to find the answer you have to divide the miles by the inches in order to find how much each inch is worth:

48.75 ÷ 6.5 = 7.5

1in = 7.5miles.
