Marlin's marble jar had 36 red marbles and 64 blue marbles. What was the ratio of red marbles to blue marbles in the jar?

To get the ratio between red and blue we have to put number of red marbles into numerator and number of blue into denominator, and then simplify the fraction.

(36)/(64)= (36:4)/(64:4)= (9)/(16) = or 9:16 - its the answer
