i assume you are solving for x
it's easiest to split into two, simplify, and then combine
1/2 (4x+6) = 2x + 3
1/3 (9x-24) = 3x - 8
2x + 3 = 3x - 8
-2x -2x
3 = x - 8
+8 +8
11 = x
