-1/2c + 5< 7
start by subtracting 5 from both sides
that way now you have -1/2c < 2
then multiply both sides by negative 2
this will cancel out the fraction giving you
c> -4
the inequality sign flipped because the side your negative was on changed

c is greater than or equal to -4
c
-4
subtract five from each side then multiply by -2 but remember to flip the sign!!
