Answer

Find out the price of the shoes last week .

To prove

As given

The price of a pair of shoes is $52.

The price is 15% lower than last week.

15 % is written in the decimal form

= (15)/(100)

= 0.15

15 % of the price of shoes = 0.15 × 52

= 7.8

The price of the shoes last week = price of a pair of shoes this week + 15 % of the price of shoes

= 52 + 7.8

= $ 59.8

As

1 dollar = 100 cent

59.8 dollar = 59.8 × 100

= 5980 cent .

Therefore the price of the shoes last week is 5980 cent .
