Explanation:

The formula to calculate the percent increase :-


\frac{\text{Change in value}}{\text{Previous value}}*100

Change in distance from 5 miles to 16 miles = 16 miles-5 miles = 11 miles

Previous value = 5 miles

Now, the percent increase will be :_


(11)/(5)*100=220\%

Hence, the percent increase from 5 miles to 16 miles = 220%
