-16w-26+9w=-61
-16w+9w=-61+26
-7w=-35
w=5

multiply (-2) in that parenthese, so u will get this:
-16w - 26 + 9w = -61
-16w+9w= -61 +26
w(-16+9)=-35
-7w=-35
divide both side of the equation by (-7) to get only variable w as:
w=5
