In the 1800s, many Americans believed in manifest destiny. What does that term mean?

They thought that they had the right to just move from coast to coast. They knew what they were doing and they hurt many Native American tribes in the process of moving. Many of them had their own land and through the Indian Removal Act of 1830 many moved and some died. White people thought they were over the other people so they just moved from side to side.
